Drive Apparel
Drive Apparel
Brand Identity + Website Design
Timeline
Spring 2014—Fall 2015
During a senior portfolio class at USU, I designed an identity for a made-up brand called Drive Apparel. When I graduated, I made it into a real business to combine my love for branding and fashion at the time.
In an effort to be environmentally conscious, I sourced clothes and accessories from thrift stores, repairing/modifying them if necessary. Then I styled outfits, took product photos, and created listings on my Squarespace site and Etsy shop. I curated seasonal collections, art-directed photo shoots, photographed look books, and managed marketing, social media, sales, packaging, shipping, accounting and inventory tracking.
Role
Business Owner
Art Director
Designer
Like most Tumblr girls in 2014, I worshipped Sophia Amoruso and her success with Nasty Gal was a major inspiration for me. I unironically sported a phone case emblazoned with “#GIRLBOSS”—a fact I must learn to live with every day.
Although Drive Apparel was a short-lived project, I’m proud of the work I put into it, the relationships that came out of it, and everything I learned in the process.
